On Friday morning, the Marshall County Coroners’ Office was dispatched to the 1900 Block of Sunset Drive – just after the body of a man had been found floating in Lake Guntersville. They arrived at the location around 11:00am, after a person notified the dispatchers’ to report seeing a body of a “middle-aged black man” in the lake. They also stated that the man “was not local to the area.”
Coroner Cody Nugent said there is currently no suspicion of foul play.
Guntersville Police are currently investigating the incident. Guntersville Fire assisted in the recovery.
