Strong Storms Possible Locally Today and Tomorrow

There is a good chance for a few strong storms in north Alabama on both Wednesday and Thursday.

That’s according to the Storm Prediction Center, which has added a Level 1 out of 5 severe weather risk for that region on both days.  There is no risk for severe weather for central or south Alabama.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville said there was a LOW chance for severe weather – BUT – if any storms became strong they could bring damaging winds of 40 to 50 mph and small hail.  The timeframe for possible storms for Today/Wednesday – according to the weather service, is from 7:00am until 2:00pm – and Thursday storms could be possible from 11:00am until 7:00pm.

Forecasters added that this is an evolving forecast, and to check back for updates.
