Albertville Man Arrested for “Actively Attempting Sexual Assault”

Boaz Police say they arrested a man for “Actively Attempting” to sexually assault a woman last weekend.  Police Chief Michael Abercrombie said that officers were called to the Sundown Apartment complex, on College Avenue in Boaz early Saturday morning.

 When they arrived – they found a man “actively attempting to sexually assault an adult female victim.

After taking both witness and victim statements, police arrested Douglas Heath Swearengin, age 38, of Albertville.

He has been charged with first degree Attempted Rape – and first degree Attempted Kidnapping.

Swearengin is being held in the Marshall County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
