Spring Garden softball rallies past Hokes Bluff 3-2

SPRING GARDEN – The Spring Garden Lady Panthers manufactured three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally past visiting Hokes Bluff 3-2 in softball action on Tuesday night.

Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the seventh, Rylie Ham led off with a single up the middle. Hayden Parris came in to pinch run. Avery Steward then doubled to left field. Helena Ingram then followed with a slow dribbler to third in which she beat out. Maggie Reedy then delivered a double that scored Parris and Steward. Helena Ingram scored the winning run on an errant throw.

Steward and Layla Ingram led Spring Garden at the plate with a pair of hits apiece. Both of Steward’s hits were doubles. Helena Ingram collected a hit, a walk and scored a run. Ham and Olivia Law both finished with a hit.

Steward picked up the win in the circle. She tossed all seven innings and allowed no earned runs on five hits with three walks and two strikeouts.

Spring Garden hosts Sand Rock for a doubleheader beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
