Cedar Bluff closes out baseball’s regular season with 9-4 win over Sand Rock

CEDAR BLUFF – Bryson Teague tossed a complete game three-hitter with a walk and nine strikeouts in leading the Cedar Bluff Tigers to a 9-4 baseball win over visiting Sand Rock on Monday.

Hunter Stallings and Dylan McDaniel delivered a pair of hits at the plate for the Class 1A, No. 10 Tigers (16-11), who won their ninth game in a row. One of Stallings’ hits was a double. He also scored twice. McDaniel also drove in a pair of runs.

Jacob Chambers contributed a double and two RBIs. Caleb Edmondson also had a hit and two RBIs. Warren Wallace delivered a hit, two walks and two runs. Eli McFry managed a hit, two walks, a run and a RBI. Isaac Bishop collected a hit, a walk and two runs. Teague tallied a hit and scored a run. Kaden Pack drove in a run.

Cam Gifford led Sand Rock at the plate with a double, a run and two RBIs. Coleton Pettus had a hit and scored a run. Elijah Hood finished with a hit. Caiden Bullard and Nick Clanton both scored a run apiece. Clanton also walked.

The Tigers travel to Lynn on Friday to open the Class 1A state playoffs. They’ll play a doubleheader beginning at 4:30 p.m. Sand Rock’s season comes to a close.
