The first round of the Alabama high school state baseball playoffs is this Friday and Saturday. Each series is a best-of-three games. Three area teams have qualified for the postseason, including Cedar Bluff, Collinsville and Piedmont.
In Class 1A, Cedar Bluff will travel to Lynn. Friday’s doubleheader begins at 4:30 p.m. A third game if necessary is Saturday at 11 a.m.
In Class 2A, Collinsville will host Altamont on Friday in a doubleheader beginning at 4:30 p.m. A third game if necessary will be Saturday at 1 p.m. Saturday.
In Class 3A, Piedmont will host Sylvania in a doubleheader on Friday beginning at 5 p.m. A third game if necessary will be Saturday at noon.
Winners of each series will advance to the second round on April 26-27.
