Two Arrested on Burglary Charges in DeKalb County

On Monday, April 8th, the DeKalb County Criminal Investigation Division was contacted by the Crossville Police Department, regarding a burglary that had recently taken place in the town of Crossville.  

While taking reports – the officers had gathered information on suspects that led to a residence on College Street.

Surveillance on the home was conducted by Investigators and Crossville Police – and later in the day – an Investigator made contact with the two suspects living at the residence.  A large amount of stolen property from the recently burglarized home was discovered and after an investigation Rose Mary Payne, age 59 from Crossville, was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree and Theft of Property 3rd Degree.  Jerry Dewane Plott, age 57 of Crossville, was also charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, and with Theft of Property 3rd as well as Obstructing Justice Using False ID, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, as well as Tampering with Physical Evidence.

Plott was also on Probation through another agency and he had an active warrant for his arrest for having that Probation Violation.  Both subjects were arrested on scene – and booked into the DeKalb County Detention Center.
