On April 3rd (2024) just after 4:00pm, Fort Payne 9-1-1 received a call of a serious traffic accident in the 3100 block of Wallace Avenue Northeast (Alabama Highway 35) involving a vehicle and an ATV.
The driver of the ATV, identified as a juvenile male, was afterwards taken to DeKalb Regional Medical Center, where he later passed away due to the injuries he sustained from the wreck.
That incident is still open and remains under investigation by traffic homicide investigators with the Fort Payne Police Department.
