On Wednesday afternoon – Rome-Floyd 9-1-1 dispatch received a report that a two-vehicle accident occurred – in the area, in front of Red Lobster on Shorter Avenue.   One of the vehicles involved – had overturned in the road with the driver entrapped in the car.  The other vehicle involved ended up in the grass in front of the restaurant.

First responders arrived at the collision, and helped the driver leave the overturned vehicle, and one individual was transported to be treated for injuries from the scene via Atrium Floyd EMS.  All Westbound lanes of traffic on Shorter Avenue, at Division – were shut down until the vehicle could be removed from the roadway.

The accident scene remains under investigation.
