An organizational meeting for the purpose of forming a local camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans will be held Saturday, April 6th, beginning at 2pm at the Cherokee County Historical Museum, located at 101 East Main Street in Centre.

Anyone interested in joining or learning more about the SCV, the Civil War, or the three national SCV Conventions is welcome to attend.

Membership in the SCV is open to all male descendants of any veteran, who served in the Confederate armed forces.

The organization of a band capable of performing at parades and events, with membership open to anyone, will also be discussed.

SCV offices to be filled include: Chaplin, Master at Arms, Band Director, Communication Officer, Debutante Ball Coordinator (female), and Color Guard.
