National Vietnam Veterans Day

National Vietnam War Veterans Day IS TODAY, Friday, March 29th, 2024.

It is a day set aside to honor the veterans of the Vietnam War that served the United States.  The day was made official – through the Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017 and then it was signed into law by then President Donald Trump.

Each year – on March 29th – Vietnam War veterans are honored for both their great service and sacrifice – through ceremonies and celebrations – throughout the nation.

March 29th, 1973, is the day U.S. Military Assistance Command, Vietnam, was disestablished and the day that the last U.S. combat troops departed Vietnam.  In addition, on and around this same day, the U.S. Vietnam War Commemoration stated that Hanoi released the last of its acknowledged prisoners of war.
