In the Cherokee County Arrest Files for the previous 24 hours:

WILLIAM BRIGHT, age 57 from Piedmont – was arrested by the Alabama Department of Public Safety – and was charged with:  Driving Under the Influence/Alcohol;

STEVEN MAES, age 37 of Anniston was arrested by Cedar Bluff Police and is currently On Hold for Another Agency;

SAMUEL MALLETT, age 27 from Sand Rock was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office on charges of Assault 2nd Degree;

And

GARY MOORE – 61 from Gadsden – was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and charged with Theft by Deception 1st Degree.

Arrests are based upon probable cause – and all subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Currently – there are 91 inmates that are housed in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
