House Fire Early Monday in North Georgia

A house fire in neighboring Chattooga County, Georgia – early on Monday morning – left a family displaced.  The Trion Fire Department responded to the residential structure fire on Plum Street in Trion at 4:14 am – and, when firefighters arrived on the scene the home was fully engulfed along with the neighboring mobile home showing flames and smoke.   Contents of the yard and even the trees were on fire as well.

Firefighters quickly called for mutual aid assistance.  There were no cars in the driveway and no one was in the mobile home, sadly however some of the family’s pets were trapped in the fully engulfed structure.    Afterwards, the Red Cross was called in to assist the family.

Trion Fire Chief Justin Lowe asked that everyone “please keep the family in your prayers during this very difficult time”.

Agencies on-site included:  the Trion Fire Department, Hays Correctional Fire Department and the Teloga and Summerville Fire Departments with Atrium Health Floyd EMS.

The matter remains under investigation.
