School Board Calls Special Meeting

The Cherokee County Board of Education held a special called meeting Thursday afternoon at 5 pm in the Central Office for the purpose of a Student Disciplinary Hearing.

Upon establishing a quorum, the Superintendent Welsh asked for an Executive Session which was approved by the Board. The Executive session lasted 50 minutes. When the Board reconvened the regular meeting, Mr. Welsh recommended the Board uphold the Tribunal Discussion during the Executive Session. The recommendation failed to get a second. Then Mr. Welsh recommended the Board approve 20 days in the Alternative School with time served being counted. This was approved by the Board.

The meeting was then adjourned.

The next Cherokee County Schools Board Meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 8th.
