Emergency Meeting of The Board Of Education

The Cherokee County Board of Education called an emergency meeting on Friday, March 15, at noon at the Central Board Office.

There was only one item on the agenda – which was “Personnel”.  The Board voted to approve the personnel action which was not listed on the agenda.  The meeting then adjourned without further action or explanation about the Personnel action.

WEIS Radio News asked about the action and was told that could not be disclosed at that time.

On Tuesday of this week, the Board sent a statement saying the action approved was to accept the resignation of employee Jamie Rowland, teacher at Cherokee County High School,  effective April 30, 2024.

Superintendent Welsh confirmed that Mrs. Rowland will not be returning to the classroom.
