The DeKalb County Commission recently approved a road crew position (part time) for the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office – to work in District 4 – mainly to help control trash near the Sand Valley Landfill. Donnie Morgan was hired for the position – and Sheriff Nick Welden said his office gets emails and calls frequently about trash on the roadsides in the area around the landfill – where the big trucks delivering garbage to the landfill travel.
According to Sheriff Welden – that new position should eliminate around 200 emails each month regarding trash problems along the roads there.
