Update: An arrest was made Monday afternoon. After obtaining a confession, the unnamed suspect was charged with criminal mischief.
Collinsville Police Chief Andy Brown released the following statement, Monday morning, in response to a recent act of vandalism of city property:
This is what happens when things are made to look nice. These maple trees were just planted at the new softball fields, and now they have been purposely pulled up. If anybody has any information they would like to share about this, please come talk to me.-Chief Andy Brown
