Lady Warriors double up on Etowah 8-4

ATTALLA – In a rematch of Saturday’s Cherokee Softball Invitational championship game, the Cherokee County Lady Warriors doubled up on Etowah 8-4 on Monday.

Grayson Tucker led the Lady Warriors (10-2) at the plate by going 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs and three RBIs. Abby Lea, Lanie Williams, Anna Walker, Bristol Bass and Audrey Haygood each had a pair of hits. Lea also walked twice and drove in a run. Williams doubled, walked, scored a run, and drove in one. Walker doubled and scored a run. Bass and Haygood scored a run apiece. Raechel Russell doubled and scored a run. Emma Hill drove in a run.

Lea picked up the win in the circle. She pitched three innings of two-hit ball, giving up two earned runs with four walks and two strikeouts. Tucker also tossed three innings. She gave up two earned runs on four hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Hill worked an inning of one-hit ball.

Cherokee County hosts Oneonta on Thursday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
