WOODLAND — Carson Young went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a run and two RBIs to help the Piedmont Lady Bulldogs earn a 6-5 softball win over Hixson, Tenn. in a tournament at Woodland on Saturday.

Savannah Smith was 2-for-3 with a double and a run for the Lady Bulldogs. Casey Brothers blasted a home run and had two RBIs. Amiyah Thomas doubled. Eliza Mathis had a hit and scored a run. Ava Pope added a hit and Amarae Champion scored a run.

Smith earned the win after working five innings. She allowed no earned runs on four hits with two walks and eight strikeouts.
