Stolen Vehicle Reported Just Across the Georgia State Line in Lyerly

The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate a theft of a vehicle from Talliferro Springs Road in Lyerly.  According to a report recently released by the Sheriff’s Office, March 5th,  – a responding deputy met with Justin Pettyjohn, who stated that the day before he had left for work around 7:00am, and when he returned home, a gold Saturn vehicle was missing from the residence.

Pettyjohn identified an East Ridge, Tennessee woman who had stayed at the residence the night before and was there when he left – but when he returned home, both the woman and the vehicle were missing.  Pettyjohn told the deputy that he and the woman are “just friends” – but, his friend would not answer his calls concerning the whereabouts of the vehicle.

The Saturn was entered into the statewide database as being stolen.
