Spring Garden baseball holds on at Glencoe 11-10; falls in second game 12-11

GLENCOE – Spring Garden scored six runs in the top of the fifth inning and five more in the sixth, then held on for an 11-10 baseball win at Glencoe on Thursday. Glencoe rebounded to take a 12-11 decision in the second game.

In game one, Zane Edwards went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with a home run, a double, two runs and four RBIs. Connor Bates added a pair of hits, including a double, with a run and a RBI. Chapel Pope also posted two hits with two runs and a RBI. John Welsh and Clayton Sadler both went 2-for-4 with two runs. Sadler also had two RBIs. Gray Simpson contributed two hits and a RBI.

Hunter Parris doubled, walked and scored a run. Hayes Garmon had a hit, a walk and two RBIs. Jake Welsh finished with a hit and scored a run.

Carson Bostick tossed 4 1/3 innings. He gave up two earned runs on two hits with a walk and three strikeouts. Garmon pitched 2 2/3 innings and gave up an earned run on seven hits with no walks and no strikeouts.
