SAND ROCK – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats built an early lead but couldn’t hold on late in a 12-9 softball loss to Fyffe on Thursday.

Katelyn St.Clair homered, doubled and drove in a pair of runs for Sand Rock. Paitlyn Hughes went 4-for-4 with a walk, two runs and a RBI. Emma Sipsy was 3-for-5 with a double, a run and a RBI. Aliyah King went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs.

Molly Lay added a hit, a run and a RBI. Peyton Johnson had a hit and drove in a pair of runs. Bailey Kilgore finished with a hit and a walk.

Sipsy suffered the loss in the circle. She tossed 4 2/3 innings and gave up an earned run on seven hits with no walks and two strikeouts. Macy Martin worked 1 1/3 innings and gave up two earned runs on a hit with two walks and a strikeout. Alyvia McMichen pitched an inning of no-hit ball.

Sand Rock is scheduled to take on Spring Garden in the Cherokee Invitational in Centre on Friday at 3 p.m.
