Collinsville sweeps area baseball series with Pleasant Valley

PLEASANT VALLEY – The Collinsville Panthers completed an area baseball series sweep of Pleasant Valley on Thursday, winning a doubleheader 7-3 and 8-7.

In the first game, Mason McAteer and Tytan Morgan led the Panthers at the plate with three hits apiece. One of McAteer’s hits was a triple. He also scored a run and drove in another. Morgan also managed a walk and drove in a run.

Gavin Lang added a pair of hits and two RBIs. Jake Middlebrooks doubled and scored a run. Jeremiah Killian had a hit and drove in a run. Will Edmondson finished with a hit.

Morgan picked up the win on the mound. He tossed five innings and allowed two earned runs on six hits with no walks and five strikeouts. Edmondson worked two innings and allowed an unearned run on two hits.

In the second game, Edmondson collected three hits, including a double. He also walked. Lucas McDaniel managed a pair of hits, a run and a RBI. McAteer also had a pair of hits with a RBI.

Killian doubled, walked and drove in a run. Lang collected a hit, a walk, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs. Dakota Cothran contributed a hit and two RBIs. Sylas Adams added a hit, a walk and two runs. Justin Pruitt posted a hit and a walk.

Killian captured the win on the mound for the Panthers. He worked three innings and gave up an earned run on two hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Middlebrooks and Edmondson both pitched an inning. Adams tossed two innings.
