CENTRE – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and two more in the sixth to take a 4-0 softball victory over visiting Sardis on Thursday.
Abby Lea, Lanie Williams and Audrey Haygood led the Lady Warriors at the plate with a pair of hits apiece. One of Lea’s hits was a double. She also had two RBIs. Haygood scored a run.
Anna Walker added a hit and scored a run. Grayson Tucker tallied a walk, a run and a RBI. Bristol Bass drove in a run and Samantha Stubbs scored a run.
Emma Hill picked up the complete game win in the circle. She allowed just one hit and a walk with 10 strikeouts.
Cherokee County (7-1) is scheduled to take on Cedar Bluff on Friday in the Cherokee Invitational at 3 p.m.
