MONTGOMERY – The Alabama High School Athletic Association Central Board of Control approved new realignments for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 winter sports seasons on Thursday morning, including basketball.
As it was with football, Cedar Bluff moves from Class 1A to 2A and Collinsville from Class 2A to 3A. Cedar Bluff’s new basketball area is Class 2A, Area 13 with Sand Rock, Gaston and Pleasant Valley. Collinsville’s new area is Class 3A, Area 13 along with Fyffe, Geraldine and Sylvania.
The new Class 1A, Area 12 consists of Gaylesville, Spring Garden, Donoho, Faith Christian and Jacksonville Christian.
Piedmont picks up some new area rivals in the new Class 3A, Area 12. Joining the Bulldogs is Glencoe, Ohatchee and Westbrook Christian.
Cherokee County trades Jacksonville for Alexandria (which moves down from 5A) in Class 4A, Area 12. Joining the Warriors and Valley Cubs is Cleburne County and White Plains.
