Woman Arrested After Causing Disturbance at Church

A woman was arrested, after she entered a Floyd County, Georgia church, and then proceeded to cause a disturbance before attacking a man in the congregation.

Kail Mikeal Schemmel, 28 of a Lawrenceville address, was arrested after she’d allegedly damaged a door, to the Christway Resurrection Outreach Ministries Church on Callier Springs Road, and then, allegedly proceeded to threaten members of the congregation.  Police added that Schemmel acted in a tumultuous manner while hitting a 41 year-old man in the face.   She was also accused of threatening to kill the victim in front of law enforcement.  That incident occurred in front of numerous children at the church.  During her arrest, Schemmel was also accused of biting an officer.

She currently stands charged with disorderly conduct, criminal trespass, two counts of battery, four counts cruelty to children, criminal damage to property, two counts felony obstruction, two counts terroristic threats and acts and also vandalism of a church.
