Cherokee County sweeps pair of baseball games from White Plains

The Cherokee County Warriors swept a pair of baseball games with White Plains on Monday and Tuesday. Monday’s final was 16-1 at White Plains. The two teams shifted to Centre on Tuesday, where the Warriors posted a 13-4 victory.

In Monday’s game, Parker Wilson went a perfect 4-for-4 with a double, three runs and seven RBIs. Nate Black was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run and three RBIs. Jeb Crane collected a pair of hits, including a double, with a walk, three runs and three RBIs.

Jace Turner doubled, scored a run and drove in one. Luke Young and Adam Griffith both added a hit and scored two runs apiece. James Hunter had a hit with two RBIs.

Jackson Aultman picked up the win on the mound. He tossed all five innings and gave up one earned run on three hits with three walks and five strikeouts.

In Tuesday’s contest, Black went 4-for-4 with a homer and five RBIs. Wilson collected a pair of hits, three runs and three RBIs. Crane doubled, walked twice, scored twice and drove in two runs.

Cooper Rodgers came away with a hit, a walk and two runs. Young singled and scored three runs. Case Hill had a hit, a walk, a run and a RBI. Turner tallied a hit and a walk.

Garrett McRay tossed four innings. He gave up three earned runs on eight hits with no walks and a strikeout. Ben Elsberry worked two innings of no-hit ball with six strikeouts. Black worked an inning of no-hit ball with a strikeouts.

Cherokee County hosts Gaylesville on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
