CENTRE – The 2024 Cherokee Softball Invitational is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Centre Softball Complex. Gaylesville is this year’s host.
Nine teams are featured in the event, including all five Cherokee County schools. Joining Gaylesville, Cedar Bluff, Cherokee County, Sand Rock and Spring Garden is Glencoe, Etowah, Valley Head and Fyffe.
Pool play begins on Friday at 3 p.m. Games include Cherokee County vs. Cedar Bluff, Sand Rock vs. Spring Garden, and Gaylesville vs. Fyffe. Games at 4:30 p.m. include Cedar Bluff vs. Glencoe, Spring Garden vs. Etowah, and Fyffe vs. Valley Head. Games at 6 p.m. include Cherokee County vs. Glencoe, Gaylesville vs. Valley Head, and Sand Rock vs. Etowah.
Pool play concludes on Saturday morning at 9 a.m., with games featuring Cedar Bluff vs. Etowah, Gaylesville vs. Spring Garden, Sand Rock vs. Valley Head, Glencoe vs. Fyffe. Bracket play will follow shortly after the 9 a.m. games.
All games will have a 90-minute time limit. The tournament championship will not have a time limit unless agreed upon by both head coaches.
Admission is $8 per day.
