PIEDMONT – Savannah Smith tossed a one-hit softball shutout Thursday in leading the Piedmont Lady Bulldogs past visiting Weaver 10-0 in six innings.
Smith allowed just two walks and finished with six strikeouts in the circle. She also had a pair of RBIs at the plate.
Cacey Brothers went 2-for-2 with a run and three RBIs. Amiyah Thomas doubled, scored a run and had two RBIs. Eliza Mathis was 1-for-3 with a run and a RBI. Jaycee Glover had three stolen bases and three runs. Cayla Brothers stole two bases and scored a pair of runs. Ava Pope also scored a run.
Piedmont (3-0) is scheduled to travel to Pleasant Valley on Friday at 4 p.m.
