City of Leesburg Town Council Meeting

During the Monday afternoon City of Leesburg Town Council Meeting Mayor Brandy Pierce addressed the Council about rejecting Russell Metal LLC’s bid for the maintenance shop enclosure. The closed bid the Mayor opened didn’t have all specifications in the bid.
This was rejected by the Council. Thus, the Council approved posting a new bid in a month.

The Council then agreed to amend the 2023 Rebuild Alabama Expenditure Report. They want the report to be fixed and takeout some items.

The Mayor addressed the lease of the copier for the Town Hall Office. They accepted and approved unanimously the bid of $117.00 per month for 48 months.

The Eagle Scout Dog Park was tabled along with the Cherokee County Board of Education Seeking a Special Olympics contribution until the next Council meeting.

The Mayor then addressed the surplus seizure vehicles awarded to the Police Department which included a Jeep Wrangler, Nissan Sentra, Ford Focus, 2018 Tahoe and tires. These items were all approved to surplus and sell.

Thursday, April 18th-Annual Chamber Banquet Buffet Begins at 5:45 pm.

The Security Camera Contract is up which will not be renewed.

The Mayor spoke at length of the need of a small tractor. A 35 Horse 4 wheel drive . The council all agreed to consider a bid at the next meeting.

The Lights at the Ballfield are not operating properly and needs to be repaired.

May 4th is the date for the first Farmers Market of the season at the Leesburg Park which will go through September 14th.

The Next City of Leesburg Town Council meeting will be April 1st.
