Separate Accidents in Cherokee County on Friday Morning / UPDATE

During the midst of heavy rainfall on Friday morning – First Responders and other emergency agencies – were all dispatched to separate accident locations; one located on Industrial Boulevard in Leesburg and others on Alabama Highway 9 north in Cedar Bluff, very close to the intersection at Alabama Highway 35 and another was approximately an hour-and-a-half later on County Road 45.

In Leesburg, an 18-wheeler was reportedly stuck in a ditch – when one of the rear wheels slipped off the roadway, causing the rig to stall.

Meanwhile, in Cedar Bluff a 2005 Ford Mustang reportedly hydroplaned, left the roadway and struck a tree.  The driver, listed as a male from Centre, was reportedly awaiting help by the roadside and he was taken by ambulance to Floyd/Cherokee Medical Center afterwards.  That mishap occurred around 9:00am.

At 10:25 that morning, a single-vehicle accident reportedly took place on County Road 45.  The mishap involved a 2010 Honda Accord – which was being driven by a female resident of Gaylesville.   She reportedly lost control of that vehicle and left the roadway – striking a tree.  Afterwards, she was taken by ambulance, to Floyd Medical Center in Rome for treatment.

No information has yet been released, regarding the current condition of any of those hurt in those Friday morning accidents.
