Juvenile Correction Officer Arrested

A Correctional Sergeant working at the Regional Youth Detention Center, serving several Northwest Georgia counties was placed under arrest and accused of attacking a handcuffed juvenile.   Warrants taken out in Floyd County, said 32-year-old Naji Cooke of Rome – choked a juvenile at the Bob Richards Regional Youth Detention Center on Marable Way in Rome on February 9th.  The victim was handcuffed, at the time of the assault – according to the warrants.

Cooke was booked into the Floyd County Jail with bond set at $11,200.

That Detention Center serves Bartow, Carroll, Chattooga, Douglas, Floyd, Gordon, Haralson, Paulding, Polk and Walker Counties – all in Northwest Georgia.
