Warriors’ Turner, Rodgers combine to one-hit Cedar Bluff

CEDAR BLUFF – Jace Turner and Cooper Rodgers combined to allow just one hit through five innings in leading the Cherokee County Warriors to a 14-2 baseball victory at Cedar Bluff on Friday.

Turner earned the win after tossing 2 1/3 innings. He allowed two earned runs on no hits with five walks and four strikeouts. Rodgers worked 2 2/3 innings and gave up a hit and a walk with three strikeouts.

Turner was also 2-for-3 at the plate with a walk, three runs and a RBI. Jeb Crane went 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs and four RBIs. Parker Wilson went 2-for-4 with two runs and a RBI.

Nate Black was 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs. Rodgers went 1-for-4 with two runs and a RBI. Luke Young was 1-for-4 with a run and a RBI. Jackson Aultman was hit by three pitches, scored a run and drove in another.

Bryson Teague had the lone hit for Cedar Bluff. He also walked twice and scored a run. Jacob Chambers walked and scored a run. Hunter Stallings had two RBIs.

Cherokee County improved to 2-2 while Cedar Bluff dropped to 1-3.
