On Wednesday, February 21, Mr. Roy Oscar Inman, a beloved father and grandfather, passed away. He was ninety-four years old.
Roy’s parents were Alfred and Audrey Inman. Roy met and fell in love with Opal Mackey. Together they had a great life filled with many memories. They were married for fifty-eight years and were blessed with three children, Charlotte Hooper (Claude), Donnie Inman (Gloria) and Sharon Beck (Kenny). Roy leaves six grandchildren, Happy Hooper (Brandon), Heather Blackburn (Sidney), Lora Causey (Brett), Dustin Inman (Felicia), Brandon Beck (Kimberly) and Ashley Cole (Matt). His true joy came from being with his great grandchildren, Kaden Justice, Ethan Blackburn, Charlotte Kaye Prince-Hooper, Parker Causey, Hudson Causey, Hadley Causey, Dexter Inman, Carter Inman, Louisa Cole, Theodore Cole and Kinlee Beck.
Roy’s career was at Kirby Ford Sales where he made life long friends. Away from work, he and his wife introduced their children, then grandchildren and great grandchildren to the joy of camping. Together they spent several weeks each year doing primitive camping and creating moments to never be forgotten. What started out as a small single campsite grew into a group of thirty people on eight sites.
Roy was a strong Christian man serving at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, as a deacon for some seventy years.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Opal, sisters Lily Mae Chase and Brenda Steele, and brother, Artie Inman. Roy’s other siblings are Glenda Holcomb (Orville), Virgle Inman and Mitchell Inman.
Perry Funeral Home of Centre, Alabama is in charge of service. Family and friend’s visitation will be Sunday February 25th, 2024 from 1:00-2:00 at Perry Funeral Home Chapel . Service at 2:00 with Rev. Wendell Dutton officiating. Burial at Mt. Vernon Cemetery immediately follows.
Pallbearers will include Brandon Beck, Dustin Inman, Matt Cole, Happy Hooper, Sidney Blackburn and Brett Causey.
Honorary Pallbearers will include Kaden Justice, Brandon Prince, Ethan Blackburn, Parker Causey, Hudson Causey, Dexter Inman, Carter Inman, and Theodore Cole.
