Lyerly, Georgia Man Charged with Drug Possession

A Summerville Police Officer, on patrol on Martin Street recently noticed a vehicle driving in the wrong lane of traffic.   The Officer performed a traffic stop – and the male driver appeared to be extremely nervous and showing signs of impairment.  The Officer then asked the driver if he had taken any drugs and that man admitted to having “smoked something” a short time before. 

Suspected methamphetamine and a glass pipe – were found underneath the hood of the subject’s vehicle.  After a field sobriety test – 31-year-old Justin Tolbert Pettyjohn, was placed under arrest, and then charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug related objects, and he was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
