Murder Investigation On-Going

The body of Jamari Jajuan Moore, age 25 of Scottsboro – was found back on August 18th, last year (2023), wrapped in plastic in Lake Guntersville.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office classified it as a homicide.

Moore’s body was discovered close to the border, between Marshall and Jackson County on a Friday afternoon at about 1:00 by a fisherman, off of County Road 67, just before South Sauty Creek near Langston.  The investigation has so far involved the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Scottsboro Police, the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, Jackson County District Attorney’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

However, there have been no arrests.

Moore, a native of Fort Payne, had lived in Lithonia, Georgia – and he had pursued a career in the music production industry – and had also begun breeding bulldogs with his brother.  Moore had only been living in Alabama for around one month – when he was murdered.

His mother said “He kept to himself.  He spent a lot of time with his niece and nephews.  He was a home body.  He would go to work, come home,” and she said “It’s shocking that he’s dead, because he was a good kid – he   wasn’t into anything.”

The investigation into the matter is on-going.
