City of Centre Council Meeting Regular Meeting

Mayor Mark Mansfield brought the meeting to order and brought up Bobby Paul, the Centre Street and Sanitation Supervisor to address the Council about an issue with the traffic light on the Bypass near CVS. He said the light system has a broken loop. Paul said the situation could cause traffic accidents if not addressed. The cost of repairs is $11,125 which was approved by the Council.

Mayor Mansfield then brought up the next item on the agenda to the Council. This was the DC Gas Resolution and Regulation. The Mayor told the Council we have to stagger the terms with a total of three different municipalities. He said Centre will have no change at all. But, Ft Payne and Collinsville are on their own gas board. Terms are four years. This was approved by Council.

The Fire Department needs to purchase new turn out gear.  Which are coats, gloves and all outer wear for the fire men. Interim Fire Chief Robert Pace addressed the Council about these much needed items. They were budgeted and the cost is $15,020. This was approved by Council.

All of the Council including Mayor Mansfield wanted to thank all the City Employees.

The next City of Centre Council Meeting will be Tuesday February 27th.
