One Driver Still Sought Following Summerville, Georgia Wreck

A gas truck was struck at the railroad crossing in Summerville – near the intersection of the Lyerly Highway and Rome Boulevard last week.

An AmeriGas propane truck was stopped at the railroad crossing – when a 1980’s-model, camouflage Chevrolet pickup truck struck the gas truck in the rear.  The two drivers got out, but the propane truck driver said that the driver of the pickup did not want to exchange information.

The propane truck driver stated he would need a report from the police department for his employer’s insurance.   The driver of the propane truck stated that his vehicle had very minimal damage to the rear bumper – however the Chevy pickup sustained major damage in the accident.

That camo-pickup was last seen turning onto Lake Wanda Reita Road in Summerville but police were never able to locate the truck or the driver.

The matter remains under investigation.
