Gaylesville’s basketball season ends against Faith Christian

ANNISTON – When the Gaylesville Trojans are on top of their game, the 3-pointers are falling. When they’re not, it’s usually a long night on the court.

The treys weren’t falling for Gaylesville on Saturday in their Class 1A sub-regional game at Faith Christian. The Trojans were just 4-of-32 from the arc for the game in a 59-29 setback that ends their season at 17-16.

Kyler Bradley led the Trojans with nine points. He also had three rebounds and a pair of steals. Kuper Bradley and Caden Angle both finished with six points. Kuper Bradley also had five rebounds, two assists and a steal. Angle had a pair of 3-pointers.

Collin Hendon contributed four points, nine rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block. Braden Sharp finished with four rebounds, two steals, two points and an assist.

The treys were falling for Faith Christian’s Carson Harris. He sank seven in the game and led the Lions with 28 points. Conner Richerzhagen finished with 13 points.

Faith Christian led 18-11 after one and built a 34-20 halftime advantage. The Lions were up 51-25 after three quarters.

Faith Christian advances to the Northeast Regional in Jacksonville, where it will face Skyline on Wednesday.
