SAND ROCK – Peyton Johnson and Katelyn St.Clair came away with 14 points apiece in leading the Sand Rock Lady Wildcats to a 61-26 victory over Gaston in the Class 2A, Area 12 girls basketball tournament on Saturday.
Chloe Stephens contributed 12 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, for the Lady Wildcats (23-7). Zoey Handy had 10 points and eight rebounds.
Sand Rock will host Fyffe on Tuesday at 6 p.m. for the area championship. Fyffe defeated Collinsville 58-14 in the other tournament semifinal on Saturday.
