Marshall County Sheriff Phil Sims said Asbury High School in Albertville was on “high awareness” after a potential threat Thursday.
Sims said in a statement that deputy school resource officers at the school became aware of a “potential threat” to the school early Thursday morning.
George Nsheiwat, 18, has been charged with making a terrorist threat in the second degree. His bond was set at $6,000. Sims said he could not comment on any further conditions of his bond due to HIPAA regulations.
However, the student was suspended and will not be back on campus, Sims said.
There is no immediate threat to the school,” Sims said. “SROs and members of Asbury School staff were quick to take action to determine if the threat was substantiated and to protect the school and students.”
