JACKSONVILLE – The Gaylesville Lady Trojans’ basketball season ended in heartbreak Friday evening in the Class 1A, Area 12 tournament at Jacksonville Christian.

After Gaylesville led for much of the game, the Thunder stormed back, capped off by a pair of Katie Beth Hudson free throws with one second remaining in a 43-42 decision. The Lady Trojans led by five points with a minute remaining.

Hudson led Jacksonville Christian with 19 points. Addy Grace Lee added 14 points. Riley Sanders finished with five points.

Jayden Dobbins led Gaylesville with 15 points, all on 3-pointers. Gracie Dawson delivered 13 points and Lydia Reynolds finished with five points.

The Thunder advances to face top-seeded Spring Garden at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
