A Friday morning bomb threat at the Centre Walmart turned out to be nothing more than that – just an empty threat, fortunately.
Around 9:30am – units with the Centre Police, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and Cherokee County EMA converged on the Centre Walmart after a bomb threat was made moments before.
That threat was quickly determined to be nothing more than a hoax; the specialists conducted a thorough search of the area, prior to declaring an “all-clear” of the scene. This was just another in the very recent series of threats being made to department stores in, and around, the area.
