Cedar Bluff splits basketball games with Collinsville

CEDAR BLUFF – The Cedar Bluff Tigers split a pair of basketball games with Collinsville on senior night Tuesday. The Lady Tigers took a 52-24 decision, while the Panther boys claimed a 49-21 victory.

In the girls game, Janaya Higgins led Cedar Bluff with 13 points, six rebounds, five steals and an assist.

Kylie Vadon added 11 points, five rebounds, four steals and an assist.

Za’Niya Kyle contributed nine points, three rebounds, three steals and an assist. Ciana Smith also scored nine points to go along with four rebounds, four steals, two assists and a block. Caley Bruce finished with five points, three rebounds, two steals and two assists.

Gabriella Whitmore topped the Lady Panthers with nine points.

Cedar Bluff held a 13-6 edge at the end of the first quarter and a 22-12 advantage at halftime. The Lady Tigers built a 36-17 lead after three quarters.

In the boys game, Gavin Lang sank six 3-pointers and had 20 points to lead the Panthers to the win. Jake Middlebrooks managed 11 points and nine rebounds. Shaun Stewart finished with six points.

Carter Dillingham delivered eight points for Cedar Bluff. Kadin Fife finished with six points.

Collinsville jumped out to an 18-6 advantage in the first quarter and held a 33-12 edge at halftime. The Panthers led 40-16 at the end of three quarters.
