GADSDEN POST – A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 12:05 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, has claimed the life of a Cedartown, Ga., woman. Jennifer S. Medders, 45, was fatally injured when the 2003 Chevrolet Impala she was driving left the roadway and struck a tree.
Medders was pronounced deceased at the scene by Cherokee County Coroner, Paul McDonald. The crash occurred on U.S. 278 near Cherokee County Road 111, approximately six miles east of Piedmont, in Cherokee County.
The Spring Garden Volunteer Fire Department and Piedmont Rescue Squad responded to the accident.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
