Lady Warriors hold on at Ider

IDER – Mary Hayes Johnson scored 11 points and Nevaeh Gaidurgis added 10 in leading the Cherokee County Lady Warriors to a 35-33 girls basketball win at Ider on Thursday.

Kenzie Smith led the Lady Hornets with 11 points. Julie Mavity added eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Caiden Wilburn also had a pair of treys and finished with six points.

The Lady Warriors (20-4) led 9-7 at the end of the first quarter and held a 17-13 advantage at halftime. Cherokee County extended its lead to 23-18 after three quarters and held on down the stretch for the final.

The Lady Warriors travel to Jacksonville on Friday.
