During the Tuesday afternoon City of Centre Council Meeting, Mayor Mansfield spoke with the Council about the 3R Rodeo Sponsorship agreement with the Chamber of Commerce.  This topic was covered at length at the last council meeting and was unanimously passed and approved by the Council.

Mayor Mansfield then discussed with the Council and observers about the possibilities of having direct deposit for their employees paychecks. This was tabled because they don’t have a firm quote on a price for the software. It will be brought up at the next meeting.

The City of Centre is requesting proposals for the operation of food and beverage concessions at Yarbrough Park, Shumaker Aquatic Centre and Centre Softball Complex. The proposals should include staffing and inventory provision by the operator. This was approved by the Council to advertise for bids in the local newspaper.

The Council discussed requesting two appraisals for property located at the Industrial Park.  The City of Centre will have to pay up front for the appraisal.

The Council approved $ 69,311.50 which was budgeted for the purchase of a loaded Tahoe vehicle for the Centre Police Department. It might take a year to get.

The Council also approved $1500 for a new clothing allowance for newly hired Centre Police Officers up from $300.

Bobby Paul, Street and Sanitation Supervisor, informed the Council of the dis-repair of one of the garbage truck.  The garbage bed has holes in it. The repair is $27,487.97 this was unanimously approved too.

Jay from Parks and Recreation requested the Council purchase a John Deere Gator for the Department. He told them it’s an essential piece of equipment and is used daily. The price is $ 16,875.53 and was approved.  

The Mayor and Council all thanked the departments and employees for their hard work.
