Following this week’s severe winter storm, LifeSouth says they need blood donors to help support Alabama hospitals. There is an emergency need for all blood types.

“The storm caused blood drives and blood donor centers to close in affected areas, which directly impacts a blood supply already strained due to holiday travel, school closures, seasonal illnesses and previous storms. Blood donors are needed every day, and when donations cease due to inclement weather, the blood supply drops to critical levels. LifeSouth urges the community to visit a donor center or a bloodmobile and donate,” according to LifeSouth.
