Closings & Delays for Tuesday, January 16th

Due to the possibility of wintry precipitation that could adversely affect travel conditions, several area schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 16th.

 

Albertville City Schools – closed

Anniston City Schools – closed

Attalla City Schools – closed

Boaz City Schools – closed

Calhoun County Schools – closed

Chattooga Early Head Start & Chattooga Head Start – closed

Chattooga County Schools – closed

Cherokee County Schools – closed

Cleburne County Schools – closed

Cornerstone Christian Academy – closed

Darlington School – closed

DeKalb County Schools – closed; all extracurricular activities canceled, DeKalb County Basketball Tournament games for 1/16 postponed

Etowah County Schools – closed

Fort Payne City Hall – closed

Fort Payne City Schools – closed

Floyd County Schools – closed

Gadsden City Schools – closed

Gadsden State Community College – all campuses closed; students should monitor Blackboard for online assignments.

Georgia Highlands College – closed

Georgia Northwestern Technical College – all campuses closed, classes and activities canceled.

Jacksonville City Schools – closed

Jacksonville State University – remote learning; students should monitor Canvas for information from their course faculty.

Marshall County Schools – closed

Northeast Alabama Community College – closed

Oxford City Schools – closed; all after school activities cancelled

Piedmont City Schools – E-learning

Rome City Schools – closed

Snead State Community College – closed

Trion City Schools – closed

Unity Christian School – closed

Westbrook Christian School – closed

Several local governmental offices and businesses will also close or delay opening.

 

Alabama ONE Credit Union – Centre branch delayed until 10am

Albertville Courthouse – closed

Cedar Bluff Town Hall – 2-hour delay

CED Mental Health – all 3 offices (Cherokee, Etowah, & DeKalb) closed

Centre Parks & Recreation – Youth basketball games cancelled

Chattooga County Governmental Offices – delayed opening until 10am

Cherokee County Offices & Cherokee County Courthouse – 2-hour delay; offices will open at 10am.

Cherokee Eye Clinic – closed

Collinsville Drugs – delayed, open from 12pm to 4pm

DeKalb County Governmental Offices – closed

Gadsden’s Downtown Civic Center Senior Activities – canceled

JSU Little River Canyon Center – closed

Peoples Bank of Alabama – all branches except Centre and Pelham closed; Centre branch delayed, open 10am to 4:40pm

Marshall County Courthouse – closed

Menlo City Hall – open at 10am

Sherri’s Bakery – closed

City of Summerville Offices – closed

TheatreCentre – auditions rescheduled to Tuesday, January 23rd
