This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the counties served by the

National Weather Service office in Birmingham.

Outlook through Tonight.

A wintry mix of snow, freezing rain and sleet is possible tonight in the far northwestern portions of Central Alabama.  Light accumulations along with hazardous travel conditions will be possible.

Monday through Saturday.

A wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet, and snow is expected across portions of the area on Monday and Monday night; snow and sleet accumulations will be mainly across the far northern counties with accumulations of up to 2 inches in far northwestern portions of Central Alabama and light ice accumulations will be possible mainly across the northern and western portions of Central Alabama Monday night, with hazardous travel conditions for much of Central Alabama by Tuesday morning – except along and southeast of Interstate 85.

A very cold air mass will move in Monday night. Lows below 20 degrees will be possible Monday night in the northwest and then much of Central Alabama Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Wind chills may drop to at or below zero Tuesday and Wednesday mornings in far northern portions of Central Alabama.
